hey Maria! but, but... this blog is about YOU! ok, well, i'll put a few things up here soon. in the meantime, your DAN membership number is 2256060, and you're good until end of march 2012.
Madison is beautiful. Last weekend I went to the farmers market and bought frost-sweetened spinach, then went to the cheese shop called Fromagination and tasted some $40/lb cheeses; one that had just been invented and one that was invented hundreds of years ago! The next stop was a spice shop where I smelled everything in their little glass jars. Although the name was confusing and a little off-putting I also went into an oil and vinegar store next door called Vom Fass. A salad ensued. Both my stomach and soul were replenished.
Hi Maria! My life is not nearly as exciting as yours but here goes...Today is Sunday. Usually Sundays are tough because there is so much to do before work on Monday. But today was better because it's the start of April break..YAY!!! I am not going on a vacation. I pretty much never go on a vacation. Oh well...there is much to do around here so I will use the time to catch up.
We went out to the Dinosaur Barbeque last night to celebrate the birthday of a woman your dad works with. It was SO crowded - we had to wait for two hours (standing in the restaurant getting pushed and shoved about) just to be seated! Poor waitresses - they could hardly make their way through the crowds. It seems to me that there is no meal worth waiting two hours for. Oh well - the food was good enough, and they accidentally gave me a full rack of ribs instead of quarter rack. So I brought home the leftovers so I didn't have to cook today :)
Your dad finished up the taxes this afternoon - not a good outcome. You'd think that for all the money we pay that we'd at least get our healthcare free. But that's another story.
Belle and Bebe are good. They keep each other company in their own special way - kind of like two toddlers that play 'together' but don't even talk to each other. You know what I mean? But at least they're not alone all day while we're at work.
Kara may be spending a few weeks with us at the end of the semester(i hope). Then I think she is working at a summer stock theater in New Hampshire. No definite plans yet - so we will see what happens.
OK then - that is my little 'blog' for now! Love you!!
Dad - It's my blog and I can ask for participation if I want to!
Gigi - Thank you so much for that it was delightful to read. It was also particularly awesome because, early on I made an association between you and the word "fromage". Sometimes when I see or hear that word I think of you, and it reminds me of being in Toronto in 7th grade and meeting some French Canadian boys and you, being obsessed with cheese already back then, asked them how to say cheese in French. Then we were abruptly whisked away by one of the teacher chaperones who was clearly disapproving of our fraternizing with French Canadian scoundrels.
Kathy - You are amazing and I agree that overly crowded establishments rarely provide an overall good time. Thank you for your blog contribution! Please take a vacation soooooon. Or just go somewhere 20 minutes away and turn off your phone and relax for a weekend! I hope you got some rest on your days off!
Mary-Kate - NO DYING GODDAMN IT! I miss you.
Mauricio - I still tell people that I had a hallmate in college that I often spoke animal with. Very rarely do I meet anyone who actually understands what I mean.
Everyone else - I'm sad you didn't write me a story, or a sentence. I really wanted to read some stuff. And blogspot tells me there were more than 6 views on this page since I posted! It's not too late... C'mon... tell me a story.
So I'm in line at the grocery store with 3 packages of Top Ramen (which total up to 3 delicious meals for a whopping $1.09!) and I'm behind a guy with 3 tall Heinekens and box of Trojan condoms. I say that clearly his night is better than mine. He says he's just handling business. I reply that as soon as finals are over, I too will certainly be handling business. He says he has finals now too. It is now expressly apparent that the learning institution he attends is LMU. He seems relatively unmoved by the iconicism of our grocery store selections. I go home and proceed to eat Ramen at 1am. It is delicious. Now, there is more homework to attend to. I am travailing through the last finals I will ever have. One more week and it'll be over. Nothing is done but everything is almost done. I wish you could come to my show. I will send over pictures-especially of the book that was influenced by you. Love you!
